New 2024 BMW X1 Colors, Redesign, Specs. According to German media, BMW will introduce the next generation of the X1 in 2024. We already know the 2024 BMW X1 comes with slightly larger dimensions.
It also means a more spacious interior. Part of the new infotainment system will also be an updated touchscreen display and the voice control “Hey BMW”. The new 2024 BMW X1 will technically rely on the new Series 1. It gets a front-drive FAAR platform. Of course, there will be the 4 × 4 drive version.
The engine room will get the refresh. The electric iX1 is an option. In the US, we will see the same 2.0-liter turbo unit. In Europe, the subcompact premium crossover is developing 140 horsepower from a sDrive 18i configuration.
2024 BMW X1 Changes
The new 2024 BMW X1 will bring a lot of changes. But, none of these will be radical. A minor update by a minor update will create the new image for the subcompact crossover. According to the first announcements, the X1 will be based on the larger siblings. X3 and X5 entered the new generation recently.

Spy photos are unveiling some of them. For example, the grille is larger than before. Turn signals are getting a new shape, especially housings. Hexagonal lights and LED lamps will update the front fascia. At the back, taillights are tinted. Lamps come with L shape. BMW announced that exhaust tips are larger by nearly 1 inch. Well, the X1 is not going to perform better, but the visual appearance gains some boost.
The new multimedia system is going to be ready by 2024. We’ll see if the German carmaker is adding Android Auto to its iDrive infotainment.
Standard Equipment
The interior of the 2024 BMW X1 is coming with power front seats and climate control. Size of X1 wheels is 18-inch, but the new rim design will make the crossover more aggressive.
The X1 could use some of the autonomous drive features. BMW is developing the Level 4.
Optionally, buyers will find a larger screen, exterior colors, or a panoramic sunroof. The price goes up pretty quickly if you choose heated seats or premium Harman Kardon sound system.
2024 BMW X1 Specs
Under the bonnet of the 2024 BMW X1 in the USA will be a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine. With some upgrades, the new crossover will accelerate 0-60 mph in just 6 seconds.
Well, with Normal mode it will take more time, and Eco is the slowest one, but the most efficient. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and uses a start/stop system. With the premium fuel, you can reach 26 mpg with an AWD.
Diesel and Hybrid models
The German company discontinued the 25d model with 250 hp. The same move could happen in 2024 to create space for the environmental-friendlier hybrid model.
We still don’t have precise info, but the upcoming subcompact crossover will be revisited by iPerformance department. The same division is preparing all-electric X3 and X5. So, it doesn’t take too much to figure out the new 2024 BMW X1 could go through the same process and become the next EV. Of course, it will appear as iX1.
2024 BMW X1 Release Date, Prices
The new 2024 BMW X1 is coming next year. The crossover still has some time for final tuning. However, spy photos are already there and the X1 shows few interesting details. Well, most of the body is hidden. Heavy camo is keeping some of the features for the release date. We believe the subcompact model is going to arrive early in 2024.
The price update is on the way as well. Currently, the base cost is $36,000 and the xDrive AWD model is two grands more. With available options, the price easily jumps above $50,000.
The X1 is one of the most exclusive models in the segment. Only other German carmakers can match its premium offer. Still, buyers are choosing to spend money on Lexus UX or Infiniti QX30 more frequently.
