2024 GMC Terrain Price, Specs, Interior, and Engines. The new 2024 GMC Terrain is going through a mid-cycle update. The current edition arrived last year and the new version is already spotted. Test mules are wearing a heavy camo, but we can spot few changes on the compact crossover. Updates for the vehicle are minor and Terrain will mostly upgrade its infotainment systems. Cosmetic modifications will be important for enthusiasts. The weight will drop a bit thanks to the usage of lighter materials.
The 2024 GMC Terrain is a close sibling to the Chevy Trax. For the new Terrain, it is definitely the Denali version.
Another reason why buyers are considering the Terrain is its diesel engine. A couple of turbocharged gasoline powertrains are base options. Every engine offers good performance. Whatsoever, the 2024 Terrain could also add a hybrid setup as well. It can improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions.

The new vehicle is already on the streets. The company is testing the model, but they are not giving any info yet. It is obvious that mid-cycle refresh is updating the look of the 2024 GMC Terrain. However, neither do the heavy camo is leaving too much to see there. So, most predictions we make are based on rumors and the latest changes on other GMC models.
GMC Sierra 1500 is all-new for this season. These modifications will be adapted to a smaller crossover to make it more aggressive.
Further changes for Acadia, which will be also suitable for 2024 Terrain include the infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Alloy wheels are getting a new design. We hope the compact model is getting the off-road AT4 model as well. In this case, more modifications will be on the crossover, including skid plates, higher ground clearance, and special all-terrain tires.
Five Trim Levels Available
The base 2024 GMC Terrain will be the SL. The entry-level model is using only the smallest displacement, a 1.5-l turbo-four. There is a top of the range version– Denali, which is already the premium model.
Inside, we find a 7-inch touchscreen display, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and keyless start. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are updated for the new version. 18-inch wheels and roof rails are a couple of things that will make the SLT model recognizable.
2024 GMC Terrain Denali, AT4
SLT is a heavy-loaded trim level, but it still lacks premium touches 2024 GMC Terrain Denali will offer to its owners. Navigation and Bose audio are making this version a premium crossover.
The vehicle is going to be specialized for all types of terrains. Most updates will serve these goals.
Drivetrains
The base engine is a 1.5-liter turbo-four, capable to produce 170 hp and 200 lb-ft of torque. A nine-speed is a new transmission and it provides smooth gear change and excellent fuel economy (28 mpg combined). The gearbox sends power to front wheels by default or all wheels at buyers’ choice. The same setup is available for a larger 2.0-l petrol unit. Turbocharged, it delivers 250 hp and 260 lb-ft.
Diesel engine sits at top of the lineup if you need the unit with the best fuel economy. It returns 40 mpg on the highway (FWD). On the other hand, diesel mill lacks power (140 hp) but offers a respectable torque output (240 lb-ft). A 1.6-liter displacement is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
2024 GMC Terrain Prices
After the mid-cycle refresh, General Motors will update the price for the 2024 Terrain. The base MSRP will remain at the same level since the crossover is already more expensive than its direct rivals. However, upper trim levels with more options will get some value. All-wheel drive will cost $2,000 for models that don’t have it as the only option. The SLE will cost over $30k. A 2.0-l engine adds $2,000-$3,000. Diesel versions are SLE (expected around $35,000) and SLT (from $37,000). Top of the range Denali package with a 2.0 unit will come with the price tag above $40k.
